A colleague received a K2 replacement last year that looks very much the Wessex Spinner. I would loosely describe the product he received as a hard shell but in truth the body deformed with slightest amount of pressure applied. For example, laying the case flat on the floor then placing a pint of milk on top would cause the body to deflect.
