They offered a Reroute , but only at a cost
They DID clarify baggage situation though.. 23KG PLUS your hand baggage can be checked in ADDITION. (The Email was a little ambiguous)

That's always the case, BA always lets you check in hand luggage, I always do it as I carry liquids and I never have had an issue.
