Here are the factors I am weighing:

-Does one have clearly better service than the other?
-Does one have clearly better (larger/more comfortable) rooms than the other, considering there will be three of us?
-As an Ambassador Elite, do I have a significantly better chance of a meaningful upgrade at an upgrade at one property or the other?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve stayed at both and like both. But very different hotels. Palacio is smaller and more boutiqueish. The Westin is bigger and more grand. Both had good breakfast. I didn’t get much of an upgrade at the Palacio. Room was fine though but definitely no suite either time I stayed. The room was ok size, though we did have three folks so that may have been a consideration and maybe we did get upgraded to bigger room cause of my status. Only stayed at Westin once and got a wonderful upgrade to a huge suite. Staff at both were great but I would say Westin maybe just a bit better.
