Merry, elite status gives me:

- a bonus of 100% on miles. Miles which I can use for my family to travel. Sort of a tax consideration. Spend money on deductible business flights and enjoy free private travel.

- a booking guarantee on full flights which is important if you need to go to SYD on short notice during peak times.

- a better position to redeem award flights.

- although my current business situation allows me to travel mostly in discounted F it might change in the future and I will need earned miles for upgrades. Therefor I appreciate the 100% bonus for being elite.

- As a self-paying PAX I always look for the biggest bang for my buck.
