Yikes! The title of this thread scared me... we leave on our 11-day Hawaiian vacation this Saturday, Aug. 28! Glad to know all is well with everyone over there.

Of course, living in hurricane-prone areas all my life (San Juan, Miami, and now the mid-Atlantic) has taught me a thing or two in terms of hurricane preparedness. Ah, yes, nothing like running to the store to fight people for bottles of water and toilet paper.... buying more batteries and candles that you'll ever need... enjoying the delicacy of canned cheese.... Ironically, all these hurricane "skills" came in handy for snowstorm training and the reason why I survived "the Blizzard of '96" here in DC so well!

Hope the sun is shinging down on our Hawaiian friends today!
