BA holiday, splitting PNR, Gold benefits, children

Sorry if this has been answered, I have spent some time googling tonight but could not find the answer to all my questions. Here is the scenario:

I am planning to book a trip to Asia next year with BA holidays flying OSL-LHR-Asia in Economy on the first leg and WTP on the last leg. I am flying with 3 children and my wife. But since my wife needs to return back to Norway earlier than us, I need to make a separate booking for her. But she will travel together with us in WTP for the outbound trip to Asia. Me and the children will be under the same booking and PNR. I will use my Gold status to select a seat for my wife (TCP) in WTP on the outbound trip.

The question is: There is C reward (Avios) availability from LHR to Asia on the outbound flight. My wife agreed that I can sit in C on the outbound trip from LHR (I take the children back alone) The problem is that I then need to split my PNR that I have with my children. How will that work? Will I get 1 PNR and the children get another PNR together? Or will me and the children get one PNR each. Are 3 children allowed to be "alone" on a PNR?

By doing this, will the children and my wife loose their seat assignments? My wife seat would be TCP (but I am not in the same cabin anymore) and the children seat assignments under our (me and children) previously common PNR. I could also risk this on the return flight where I am alone with the children? But then we would be in the same cabin, so then I could use TCP to seat us together, even though we are on separate PNR?

Luggage is not a big issue, since they all will have 2*23 kg anyway since they are in WTP.

Thank you.
