It is somewhat unsurprising that most people prefer food from their own country and that one would like to think that an airline's home lounge should do a decent job of that. All things being equal, I guess people would prefer food in a lounge in their own country?
I'm from Hong Kong and I never touch the western food in the Cathay lounges. Much as I do like a steak pie, Cathay wins hands down. But only because I have a preference for Chinese food.
