What sounds amazing in your report is that your wife valued the restaurant pasta so very much. I will not doubt her expertise at all. The other way round, we had the most weird (Manchester) and most awful (Blackpool) pasta experiences in the UK last year.
More often than not hotel restaurants are a real let down. But there are exceptions, even to a very high level. Obviously this one does a very good job.
