Two separate roundtrip tickets should do the trick.
[And just throwaway the return on each.] [Make sure you don't enter your frequent flier information and that you try and avoid using the same characters with this "trick".]
You should be able to do it for less than 400 total. Use travelocity to book two separate roundtrips on two separate carriers. Search with "flexible dates" to get the cheaper bookin on major airlines.
