Use the easy check-in at IAD. As the flight is international I seriously doubt they will let you check in at CHO (though there is no harm in calling them to ask).

However bad the morning rush at Dulles, checking in for 922 is much more civilised than trying to check in for a 5-6pm transatlantic.
