On an EK (GLA-DXB) flight several years ago, both myself and my travelling companion were cut off after 1 drink with our meal, claiming she needed to prepare for landing... with ~4 hours flight time remaining. I was pretty shocked.
Both of us worked in hospitality and was our first drink of the day.
Thankfully the lady next to us took it appon herself to go to the galley and order 2 more. Which we were grateful for.

At the other end of the scale flying AY ARN-HEL, was served 5 of the champagne minis (block time is about an hour). 2 on the ground, 2 in the air and one for good luck on decent. I never asked for a refill but also didnt say no.
Put me in a good mood for the flight to L HR and then BOM.
