I'm going to vent a bit, but hopefully this lesson I learned might help someone:
I recently started a dispute claim with Chase for a charge on my CSR card and agree that they are pretty unhelpful. I've had minor disputes done via AMEX previously and had no issues achieving resolution. This time with Chase it was more or less: if you sign the credit card slip, you agree to pay the charge as it appears on the receipt. In my case, it was automatic gratuity that was added in addition to an already agreed upon all-inclusive price with the restaurant's owner (for a youth sports team banquet). The restaurant also calculated the tax incorrectly, and when I tried to dispute this ($9 discrepancy), Chase also denied the claim, stating that I signed the slip agreeing to pay the charge - even though the tax is obviously wrong.
