A complaint I have with a hotel in Zurich concerns a shirt I left in the hotel. In April I noticed on my credit card statement that the hotel had added a $20 charge. I contacted the hotel and they told me that I had left a shirt in my room and that this $20 charge was a storage fee. They charge all guests a fee if they leave an item in a room after check out and when the guest returns the item is returned to them. Well, I was just at the hotel last month and the shirt was never mentioned or returned to me at any time during my stay, I had forgotten all about it.

Is such a charge normal for hotels? Should the hotel simply remove the charge since they never returned the shirt to me on my last visit?
