Very curious how/if DL will have any HND connection opportunities. PDX-HND-TPE?
I guess we will find out.
CI appears to run a couple of daily flights HND-TSA (not TPE), and codeshares with JL on a couple more. No idea how the timing works out, but to the extent DL offers connections through HND I imagine it'll be via opportunistic connections to ST carriers like this, or simply by selling a connecting leg onto JL or NH (which they already do sometimes).

More likely though DL will want you to connect via ICN. What's the point of connecting via a spoke in Japan when your JV partner has a hub with good regional connectivity? (Ignoring whether or not you want to fly KE in the first place...)

Also, for CI specifically (if Taipei is your destination) you can also do the short leg in North America and then connect to one of CI's n/s (JFK, LAX, SFO, YVR, or even HNL or ONT). (Again ignoring whether or not you want to fly CI in the first place, or whether delta.com will offer it up for sale.)
