First Class Baggage Fiasco
I just wanted to share a recent experience to see if anyone has experienced anything similar.
Travelling First with BA to Miami connecting to Boston on BA I was requested to check my bag as it contained squash rackets. I have carried rackets on numerous other BA flight but the gate agent was correct at applying policy so no complaints thus far.
On arrival at Miami and waiting at the Carousel over an hour no sign of said bag. So as not to miss my connection I speak to the BA baggage rep, He looks at the baggage receipt and his computer and tells me the bag wasn’t loaded, so I need to speak to the AA representative when I get to Boston. On arrival at Boston same message, bag still hasn’t left London. On the following evening I am returning to London so I make it clear the bag can either be sent to Boston to collect at the airport or I can collect it in London.
The following day I check in at Boston and at check in they diligently follow up with baggage staff who inform me that my bag is still in London.
This morning I arrive in London to be told by BA staff that the bag was loaded with the original flight. I have now filed a missing baggage report.
Am I missing something, or is it really possible that three people working in the baggage area could fail to understand that a bag has been shipped from the same piece of data (baggage receipt). It seems incomprehensible. If anyone has any insights I would love to hear them!
Thanks
