During my last stay at the FS, I counted the number of homeless I passed walking to Moscone West. This is a distance of approximately 0.3 miles and one block from StR. I passed 38, and one of 'em wanted $4 to buy some strawberries. The gauntlet of' 'em that you endure when exiting the Powell BART station is world-class in its decrepitness. I suspect the Loews best fits the request assuming richardd can live with average F&B. I remain puzzled by the raves of the StR. We didn't like it during our last stay and went back to FS. But the FS is quite average -- very much in the lower tiers of the FS chain. ...nowhere near the anchor that is FS Sydney however ...
It'll be interesting to see what FS does to the MO->Loews->FS. I stayed when it was a MO and it was a disaster.
