I have a reservation with CX which contains flights HKG-ZRH-GVA. It is now within 48 hours of departure, so I was able to access the check-in page on CX.com. Most likely the failure occurred because the ZRH-GVA is not open for check-in yet. CX opens online check-in at T-48. Since some may be checking-in for connecting flights as well, CX will pass e-ticket coupon to airport control at T-72. Since LX only opens online check-in at T-23, it is unlikely that the e-ticket coupon gets passed to airport control this early (before T-60, factoring in the flight time of HKG-ZRH and the connection). You may be able to try checking-in separately at LX's website at T-23 or perhaps you can try cancelling your OLCI and redo it at a later time. Alternatively, just go to the airport check-in counter.
