I am looking for a trip to Auckland in November or December 2020, and want to maximise vouchers. Pasted/attached are the vouchers I have. I am also GGL, having achieved this about a month ago, so I assume I have a joker. I certainly haven't used one, but I don't know where to look for it in my BA account. After next week I will have over 7000 TP. My year resets 6th August.
I am assuming the right option to utilise vouchers is to go LHR to SYD, then make my own way to AKL.
There will be two of us travelling, starting the journey at EDI. We would like to travel in J or F, either by paying for WTP and upgrading, or travelling in J and/or upgrading. I currently have ~ 900,000 Avios.
I know the seats won't be available for another few months but I'm trying to get ahead of the game.
With 900,000 avois and an abundance of vouchers now is the time to plan to use them for the 2020 trip, if you can. Over time they will only decrease is value.
The closer to Christmas the harder it is to get award flights. 2 x J or 2 x F on the same flight makes it harder.
BA fly LHR-SIN-SYD & LHR-HKG
Many airlines from SYD to AKL (~3:30hr) and CX from HKG-AKL.
Is AKL the final NZ destination?
As upgrades are not guaranteed you may be better getting straight out awards. You have the avios. QF, QR, MH & CX will get you to AKL from UK or Eu. Not all airlines now have F to Au / NZ.
When do you want to return to UK? Or is it a one way trip?
There are other threads on getting to AKL with avois
