I verify it. Same thing happened to me on a 3-pax itinerary 2 weeks ago. Split into 3 PNRs on the outbound, all benefits remained throughout the voyage. Even the baggage allowance remained correct (UA Gold)--2 x 70 lbs for all three, which in the past has been troublesome. I was very impressed--and relieved.
