If you are that early, consider going to the B terminal for the lounge there, even though your flight isn't going to leave from there, you would just have to leave for the gate 10-15 minute earlier than South or North. Depending on the time of day, the B lounge has more food options than the other two lounges. I wouldn't say the food is inedible, several thousand people eat in Galleries Club daily, so there is a logical mismatch there. Read up on the passageways via the BA Forum Dashboard thread on the topic. And remember if you want champagne you will need to ask for it from a lounge host.
There’s an enormous correlation between the food being ‘ free’ and the amount of people filling their plates full. Wouldn’t describe the food as inedible but it’s of a pretty low standard. BA should take a leaf out of CXs book in terms of how do to a decent standard of food in a lounge
