Does a $1275.90 (USD) penalty for changing a flight seem high?
YVR-YYZ-CPH return booked on a P fare. Needed to investigate the possibility of changing the return to a day later so first verify there is P space for flights I want, reach out to corporate agent (because I have to of course) and ask about it.
"The fee is $383, Mr. WTME"
"Good, do it." <------ BIG MISTAKE MADE HERE. I didn't ask for the itinerary and then went on holiday without reviewing.
I noticed I wasn't asked about seats so went to select seats only to find I had been booked on a V class fare. You can imagine my dismay. I looked at the itinerary and that's where I found that I actually paid a HUGE penalty that was offset by the obviously much lower fare.
Corporate agent now wants another $1000 to fix the issue because there is of course no P class available.
Anyway, the question I'm taking too long to get to; is that a really strange penalty fee? I don't know what to ask or look for to verify this so thought I'd start looking for data points in the community.
Cheers.
