It's not the name and/or origin of the bubbly that bothers me, but the quality that has reached a new low. While others serve proper "champagne" (and admittedly, not all champagne has to be good ...), LH serves a 3-4 Euro bottle of sweet bubbly "Schloss something" that is truly awful in both Y and J. They introduced "full meals" to distinguish J from Y, so why not also give premium passengers (or should I say passengers paying a premium) a decent bubbly, wherever it is from? If LX can afford to serve a 30+ Euro bottle of champagne on its short-haul flights, LH should be able to cater a 10 Euro bottle of half-decent Sekt, cremant, prosecco, etc. (the "Bouvets" they serve in the LH J/SEN lounges, which retail for around 10 Euros a bottle, are miles ahead of the "Sekt" currently served).
