I called LX this morning, they said that they wouldn't seat anyone there, period. I then told them that according to the seatmap on GDS seats 2A, 1D, and 1G already had someone sitting in them, and that other seats were merely blocked. Which means that they do give seats to pax. The agent then promised to check again whether that rule was maybe different for HON and he could seat me there.

I guess I'll end up not knowing as I had to cancel the trip in the meantime
