Where do you go to get information on an unfamiliar airline?

In recent kayak.com searches I've come across several airlines that are unfamiliar to me, such as AtlasGlobal, Pegasus, XL and Level. Also seeing some I've heard of but know little about, such as LOT or Ukraine Int'l Air. I'm not finding much about these airlines in terms of what the passenger experience is like, how reliable they are, etc. on FT. If you wanted to get a general sense of what an airline is like, what sites would you use?

Also wondering about transiting in certain cities connected with these airlines, such as Kiev. Is 1 hour a reasonable time? How easy is it to navigate the airport if you don't speak or read the language?
