Stay 07/21-/07/22

1 night paid - solo - Platinum - Sunday. First time staying in an Autograph Collection property.
Check In

Check-in seemed slower than normal - it seemed to be the workstation-related, not the human. Offered points or a $10 F&B credit as the gift, breakfast in the restaurant as the Platinum amenity. Not offered late checkout nor did I require it.
Room

Only room available was with 2 queen beds. Apparently Packers' training camp opens this week, the property is hosting the Packers' shareholders meeting, and the Experimental Aeronautical Association conference is being held in nearby Oshkosh.

A very nice room - I'd equate it a junior suite in a FS Marriott - semi-separate living area from the sleeping area. I confirmed this morning that it was a standard room.

Location
About 8 miles from the airport and a $29 cab ride (including $3 for the credit card 'convenience fee'). Historic Green Bay. Very walkable. Several restaurants within a block or two.

Amenities
I didn't have a chance to walk around the property to see the gym, etc. Breakfast was served in a beautiful dining room. Platinum breakfast choice was the 'All-American Breakfast' or the omelet, including juice and coffee. I choose the former. The best bacon that I've had for a while. The waiter pointed out that all ingredients are fresh and locally-sourced to the extent practical.

In the bar, there is a good selection of local draft beers, and bar food. The service in the bar was so-so. I almost asked the bartender about it as it was quite clear that I was an afterthought, in that she had visited most (about 6) re: refills at least once, and in one case twice, before she took my initial order. She had no further contact with me until I asked for the check. Weird.

I noticed that the room service breakfast menu had the same pricing as the restaurant breakfast menu, but added the gratuity. I thought that this was very reasonable.but the Platinum benefit in the restaurant is inclusive of drinks, whereas room service is not.

Other

The hotel does have some history to it. It has been beautifully restored. With regards to the bar photos - both bars exist, one being the 'sports bar' and the other being in the restaurant.
