There is a 630am flight from SAN to DEN (and a couple others, inc a direct) that Friday, but nothing that lands before our 1040am flight to CUN. Even if it did land with enough time, I'd have to split the booking, since there is (now) only the one "SAN-CUN" flight. Sometimes it's worth the extra points/$, but sometimes not.
And yes! I've changed flights multi times on WN trips, probably the easiest out of the airlines I fly the most.
