The point is the same, just because someone puts out a tip jar or piece of paper begging for your money doesn't mean it's appropriate to tip them.

To tie this back in to the topic, if you aren't tipping the fry guy at McDonald's, why would you tip a concierge lounge attendant for doing their job?
Why do you care where anyone else tips? Tip where you want.
