I'm guessing the guy making your fries probably works harder for your benefit and gets paid less (at least in total comp since Starbucks provides some pretty nice employee benefits). If you tip at Starbucks, then why not tip at all similar places of business?

The point is the same, just because someone puts out a tip jar or piece of paper begging for your money doesn't mean it's appropriate to tip them.

To tie this back in to the topic, if you aren't tipping the fry guy at McDonald's, why would you tip a concierge lounge attendant for doing their job?
