It is basically similar to buy a ticket by USD or CAD. Like currencies, all miles are not created equal.

You are able to score big because of the credit card competition in the U.S. But in Canada, AP is almost practically the only FFP due to AC's dominance in Canada. And it is not as easy as you think to earn AP.
