You're correct that correlation does not mean causation if that's your point. There is clearly some level of behavior change at CX around this fare (just take a took at the appropriate threads).
CX has stopped releasing close in F space to the USA. I searched all routes in next couple of weeks, nothing. Been doing so for the past month, space doesn't open up.
