Finishing up a stay here today, some highs and some minor inconveniences made this kind of a strange stay.

The Good: The hard product (minus previously mentioned soundproofing) is fantastic. Stayed 2 nights in a Marvelous suite and found the room great if you are a W type of person. Great views, high tech room, funky decor, TONS of natural light. The W insider Meliha here met us on arrival (not knowing I had status or anything just approached us on entry to the hotel and introduced herself and offered her services, she was GREAT), made some recommendations, checked in with me at breakfast etc. I found the food and beverage also very good. Breakfast had a ton of options and was pretty good, lunch and room service also above average. The cantonese restaurant in the hotel is also good.

Now for the few hiccups (really minor inconveniences in the scope of things, but enough to mention since there were several small ones that added up)

1. The most annoying for me was the first morning when shortly after 10 AM despite the do not disturb light AND sign hanging on the doorknob we get a knock on the door. It's the minibar guy and he says he "has to enter the room to check the minibar" and kind of has his hand pushing on the door a bit. If you know anything of W hotels, you know the bathrooms often offer little privacy and my girlfriend was showering and would have been clearly visible to this guy had he entered the room but he seemed annoyed I refused him entry into my room.

2. Hotel Limo booked one night at about $50 USD per hour at 7 PM (high rate for malaysia so expect good service). Come down at 7, no car, they say they need to go get it, so someone heads off to the parking garage to get the car. After about 10 - 15 minutes the car arrives and it takes about another 3-4 minutes and help from the valet for the driver to figure out how to unlock the passenger doors of the car. Driver was an older gentleman, very nice, but again when I pay hotel limo prices I expect my car to be waiting when I booked it. I could have gotten the same service from Grab for 5% of the price.

3. This one is really a small annoyance, but sent out laundry (again very high prices for malaysia, over $100 USD for not too much laundry) and clearly checked the boxed and folded box and the laundry came back on hangars. I refused the laundry up on delivery and said I asked for it to be folded as we were departing the next day and it then took another 8 hours for the laundry to be returned folded as requested.

I never complain at hotels or on airlines etc, but this hotel really has a TON of potential so have been going back and forth over whether I will offer criticism or not when they ask me how my stay was when I check out in a few hours. I would definitely stay here again and greatly preferred it to the grand hyatt.
