Dinner in KLIA...
MH First lounge dinner menu
Japanese style hamburger. Tasty !
Dessert. Good but I could not finish it !
I opted for the Japanese style hamburger and it was good. This was followed by the tropical fruit triffle as a dessert. This was good at start but this was quite heavy, and I did not manage to finish it.
Around 22:00, I left the lounge, took the air train and proceeded to the domestic terminal immigration check point were I was the only passenger both clearing immigration and security.
The domestic terminal is located one floor below the international section of the main terminal. It therefore feels a bit like being in a basement, or a subway, as you don’t have the high ceilings, and large glass windows the international section features.
Nonetheless, Malaysia airlines has a domestic lounge in this section so I spent the following 30 minutes there, to be able to catch up with some emails in comfort.
MH Domestic lounge KUL
Domestic terminal is pretty desert...
The lounge offering at this time of the day was not very large, as my flight to Penang was the only one remaining on the departure board for that day.
Domestic lounge entrance...
This lounge was certainly... quiet !
Last flight of the day !
Boarding was announced at 22:55 and I left the lounge at this moment.

This short flight was quite full and the usual pre-departure beverage was offered (Guava juice !). All the interactions I had with the friendly crew on this flight were addressed with my last name.
Feeling sleepy ?
Leg room
Safety video was showed in Bahasa only
We took off a few minutes late and 10 minutes later the cabin service began with a choice of fruit salad or chicken sandwich and I opted for the fruit salad, which was uneventful.
Business class snack KUL-PEN
Almost the shortest route !
We arrived at the gate in Penang on-time at 00:20 and parked right next to a couple of Air Asia flights.
Luggage arrived swiftly on the belt, and despite being a domestic flight, all the bags had to be X-ray scanned for customs before leaving the terminal.
A 20-minute grab ride later and I was at my hotel in the centre of Georgetown…
AirAsia Airbus 320
One of the last flights to arrive that day...
