Just back from Amanyara and overall, had a lovely visit (after a great stay at Parrot Cay). Service is still what you'd expect from Caribbean. Which isn't unique to Amanyara, alone. Bit of hit or/and miss with the local staff. But there's about 50% of the staff team from Europe and Asia, which feels much more polished and warm, respectively. Being asked for room number feels very normal across many Amans, now. So I won't say that's unexpected. Ian just started and is looking to really turn the service around, I believe. I'd expect things to incrementally improve in a few months' time. Now onto the good things...The hard products are still great and stunning. We had an Ocean Cove Pavilion (#128 ), which I believe to be the best Ocean Cove Pavilion. Had an Ocean Cove on previous visit and wasn't as convenient/nice as #128 . But they are all stunning and feels very special to have your private beach/cove. Really nice to just jump in the mornings for a quick swim/wake up. The villas are of course simply gorgeous and really in a different league than anything else in Provo. I've got to take my family there. The resort was at 70% capacity during our stay and per usual Aman etho, it didn't negatively impact us at all. The beach is still wonderful to spend the whole afternoon at. My initial lunch was a bit off but aside from it, all else was good. Ian introduced me to a few times that were really good. Items on the dinner menu were solid as well. Looking at the prices, it reminded me just how great of a deal the "Season of Discovery" promotion is

... Anyway, it's going to take time but I have high hopes that things are only going to improve with Ian steering the ship as he is likely going to be there for some time.
Heading to Cap Juluca on Saturday and will report back. Will see if it lives up to all the hype I've heard from clients and peers!
