This booking has already been a nightmare as it was made before I received a 2400 ec point upgrade voucher. After talking to CSA in reservations I was told that I'd have to return the tickets, wait for the miles to be credited and then rebook the flight in the upgraded class (if available). He was positive that this was the only way forward. The duty manager (many thanks if you read this!) had other ideas and pratically changed it on the spot.

So I guess I could try going up a level again.

The thing that really bugs me is that there is pratically no cost to BA and it's probably cheaper than for them to cancel and refund the airport tax. I'd even be happy to pay a ticket amendment fee.

Will let you all know how I get on.

Now where did I put that legally binding change of name form? )

BTW UKEC are happy (or have been in the past) to do one-way award tickets.
