Using Museum Passes from Library

Several public libraries offer museum passes granting free entry to various museums.

Example of library: Teaneck Public Library
Example of museum: Children's Museum of Manhattan

Does anyone have experience with these? My library offers basically nothing but other family members (siblings, cousins) have libraries with significantly more options. Are the passes transferable or would I need to show ID when entering the relevant museum?
