I would like to buy a first class Oneworld RTW ticket. Which is more appropriate for this itinerary--the continent or mileage based fare?

JFK-CX X/YVR-CX HKG-CX BKK-CX SIN-QF-SYD-QF-AKL-QF-X/SYD-X/JNB-BA-CPT-BA-X/LHR-AA-JFK

Less than 24 hours in Vancouver, Sydney on the 2nd pass, and Johannesburg.

Stopovers in HKG, BKK, SIN, SYD, AKL, CPT and LON.

Is the mileage calculated per sector or point-to-point with the connection cities with less than 24 hours not counted. Example JFK-HKG or JFK-YVR-HKG?

I guess I would consider adding some domestic sectors within Australia and/or New Zealand as well as maybe within Europe to maximize my 16 segments depending on what RTW is suggested.
