One advantage of upgrading the outbound drumstick...ah leg...is that you get to use the arrivals lounge at LHR. If you are inclined to want to take a shower when you get there, that can be nice. Of course that, in and of itself, is likely not enough reason to shell out 25K miles since you can do this for about 35 bucks as well. If you do want to upgrade one anyway, then I would sugges the outbound for this reason.
