BoA is often stingy with starting limits but very generous with CLIs especially with a cardholder that has at least 6 figures in assets across BoA/Merrill and doesn't sockdrawer the cards. When you see the blue "request a credit limit" link appear go ahead and request one and don't be afraid to go big as they do counteroffer. The only caveat is that a cardholder exceeding $99.9K in total CL across all BoA cards held is uncommon.

BTW reducing CL in anticipation of applying for another card is not the best default strategy with BoA as they play the game differently than for example Chase. Given how they like to operate, success is more likely if one leaves alone CL on existing cards and lets them choose to reallocate some of it if necessary toward the new card. In many cases you can go backl later and redistribute CL across cards more to your liking afterward although if I remember correctly reallocation from business to personal cards isn't allowed.
