As much as everyone knows how much I love the StR SF, I must say that I don’t agree with my dearest KatW about the renovated/refreshed RC SF decor: I quite like it. Perhaps I like the more masculine and modern sensibility and KatW prefers the previous more traditional and feminine sensibility. Perhaps it’s something else. But I certainly approve.
To me, the RC SF feels a bit more “plush” than the even more modern and stylistic approach at the StR SF. Both feel masculine IMO, but the heritage building of the RC has a nice ambience, just as the modern tower and sleek chic appeal of the smaller public spaces at the StR are very appealing to me.
My biggest challenge with RC design is that it’s beginning to feel like most RCs I visit have almost the exact same design sensibility in every location at which I’ve stayed. The StR SF stands out as feeling distinct; the RC SF doesn’t to me.
