You could fly to HNL and then fly HNL to JHM Maui. Much easier airport to arrive at. OGG to HR Maui is a good 40 minute drive. From JHM it is 5 minutes.
We stay at HR Maui for a month every February.
The hotel is OK.......grounds are good. Club is great. Rooms are OK.
Maui is a great island.
I wouldn't do day trips to the other islands.
You waste too much time at airports, IMO.
HR Waikiki is a big hotel
The club is great.
Rooms are clean but have no atmosphere.
