KUL - No LPGS on the Ground?
Travelling back from KUL on Monday night I overhead one of the cabin crew telling someone on the other side of the F cabin that Champagne could not be served until after take off. Having done this route a few times I queried this when I was offered juice or water and the response I got that was Malaysia was a "dry" country so alcohol was not permitted. What nonsense; there were plenty of drinks being served in the Malaysia Golden Lounge in the terminal. It was not until later that I realised on the outbound trip I transferred from BA to TG and was offered a glass of champagne in their business class whilst still on the ground.
More cost-cutting by BA or has there been a recent change in policy? It was about 45 minutes after take off that a drink was finally offered.
On a totally unrelated topic this was my 10th flight on a 787-9 - anyone know why door 1L is never used?
