IME OTAs are likely to take longer to pull these kinds of fares so by the time a fare is on the blogs it's unlikely to still be available directly through the airline site. The smaller OTAs are generally the last to pull these kinds of fares. At that point I'd avoid bothering with the fare at all all though unless you're comfortable with the distinct possibility you'll end up with a cancelled ticket and no refund - smaller OTA customer service is generally terrible.
