This area is one of the relatively few places designated a Pueblo Magico in Mexico. It should be a must-see for any visitor to Mexico - it is absolutely beautiful! After reading about it here on FT (there is another thread all about it) I made it a point to go during my Xmas visit to the suegros in 2017. My relatives in Mexico had never been and are still congratulating me for making the entire family go with me. I think the idea most people have of Mexico is Cancun/Cozumel, Mexico City, the Sonoran desert or TIJ or Cd. Juarez. This place is so far removed and different from all of those other places it feels like another planet. The food is great, the values are excellent, the people exceptionally friendly and warm. Don't miss the Sotano de Colondrinas - a cave where millions of birds nest and fly in/out each evening/morning in a massive swarm that takes about 40 minutes to complete - amazing that they do not bump into each other in such a (seemingly) small space.

Visit here and your perspective on Mexico will be changed forever....
