When I worked with Frontier in Denver, Hughes Airwest DC-9-30s did indeed come into Denver from Las Vegas and SLC. My crew had the misfortune of being assigned the LAS flight. I say "misfortune" because while our 737s had large spacious baggage holds, on the DC-9 you had no choice but to be on your knees. Its baggage compartments were long and low, making loading and unloading comparatively more difficult.
