So my last 4 entries have been a bit longer (my first two were in 2018 and were for 5 nights I believe while my entry in January was for 9 nights and my last entry, in April, was for 8 nights). I am quite irked at the idea or carrying nearly $700 on me as I don’t want to use a forex and get ripped off once in Thailand or carry around that much US currency, especially as I’m doing quite a bit of traveling. From the reports you’ve seen about folks getting turned away because of lack of currency on them, were they given an opportunity to use an atm to withdraw cash or at least been able to show the official a bank statement or an online banking snapshot from their bank’s mobile app on their phones? Luckily, I will not be working in Thailand and have only visited the country for tourism purposes (I do have some buddies in Thailand but I believe seeing friends is considered tourism haha).
