i was looking because i am bummed that the flight seems to be still on the oldest of old 777 configs. Not just the non-Polaris seats but also the IFE that looks like it is from the mid 90s.. and even though ORD-PEK Is not a Polaris hard product dedicated route I can still dream..

Anyway the previous flight is TODAY’s #851 ORD-PEK, which means it will land at 3pm tomorrow (7/8) and then sit for 21 hours in PEK. That seems like a real waste of a plane to me..

(it’s flying Newark to Chicago this am and did IAD-EWR after getting diverted away from EWR. I can’t go further back and see what route it had been flying before the diversion )

I guess it’s possible there will be a re-dispatch algorithm that runs overnight to move some planes around but thought this extended layover in PEK was odd.

Is this normal? I have never really looked at how long planes are parked in PEK. Is this the best they can do with PEK slots?
Flight was flying PVG-EWR when it diverted to IAD.
