Picked up the bags at HND and dropped it off at the connection counters upon clearing immigration just by showing boarding pass. There is a dedicated bus access just next to those counters which you directly into HND domestic terminal. Extremely seamless and painless!
A YouTuber posted a video a couple days ago of this flow in the first half of the video below. One note partially seen at around 4:39 is this shuttle does have gaps during the day presumably for the lack of JAL international arrivals during those periods.
