100% contacting hotels via the app as well for both Marriott and legacy SPG properties in 2019 for me. Plus if they don’t respond, at least you have it documented as it’s saved until check out date. Especially helpful when I arrive at 2am in India and always chat with them at my connecting flight to confirm late arrival.
