The rides are definitely great, as are the general IROPS policies -- being confirmed on a full flight that is most convenient for me is a huge perk. I'm regularly recognized as a CK in-flight, and service seems to be slightly better, and I've definitely benefited from my share of slight deviations from "the rules" to make me happier during the flight (e.g., taking my meal order first, unlimited alcoholic beverages on the rare occasions I'm in coach, etc.).
Agree that the #1 benefit is day-of-travel irrops. All that other stuff is nice but the ability to get put on a zeroed out flight is key (or even booked on another airline). For irrops, they almost always do exactly what I ask.
The car transfers are nice (especially between LHR terminals), but I always turn down a cart at ORD since it's never too far to connect, I need the walk, and it's kind of embarrassing being shuttled in one of those.
