I recently completed a stay at this property with my wife. We stayed for two nights as part of a vacation on a paid rate. I am an Ambassador Elite.

We took a taxi from Xi'an Bei Railway Station - it cost about $24 each way because the hotel is pretty much on the direct opposite side of the ring road from the station.

The hotel was completely sold out about two months prior to our stay due to a pharmaceutical conference. I received an email saying that they would not be able to upgrade us from the base-level room. I was surprised when I checked in and we were upgraded to Junior Suite.

The room was very big - much bigger than I expected from something labeled as a Junior Suite. There were separate living and sleeping areas, a large bathroom with overhead shower and soaking tub, a walk-in closet, and plenty of universal outlets. It was one of the largest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in, attractively decorated, and everything felt brand new. There was an espresso maker in the room and copious amounts of bottled water - probably ten bottles waiting when we arrived.

The gym was nice - lots of equipment for weightlifting and not just your standard cardio fare. There isn't a squat rack or anything, but dumbbells up to 20kg and a variety of cable machines means you can get a good pump. The swimming pool looked great, but we didn't get a chance to visit.

We ate in the lounge for both dinner and breakfast given that we were either traveling or touristing both days and both meals were very good with a variety of dumplings and steamed buns as well as more Western fare if you're not interested in stuffing custard buns in your mouth. The lounge staff were polite and friendly and remembered me on the second morning when we went for breakfast. We didn't venture to the restaurant for breakfast because of the aforementioned conference at the hotel and a note that it would probably be extremely busy.

When we return to Xi'an in the future, we'll almost certainly stay at the property again. The value just can't be beat for the prices they're charging and the overall feel of the hotel. I highly recommend it. As a comparison, it was much, much, much nicer in almost every way than the JW Marriott Hotel Beijing Central.
