Can't envision any situation in which no entertainment is preferable to entertainment. If there's entertainment, I watch it if I feel like it. If I don't, I take the headphones off, I read, I sleep, I work, whatever, and it is if it doesn't exist. I make the experience what I want it to be; I get the option.
If it doesn't exist, I certainly don't get the option to make entertainment appear in front of me. You can't just conjure that up. Ergo, no option.
So if you don't want the entertainment, how is having it up on a monitor you're not even looking at worse than not having a monitor at all?
